God WILL Provide

Posted on September 1, 2016 at 6:10 PM

It has been sometime since my last blog, but it has not been a long period of time where I have shared with others. I have experienced the love and protection by God my savior in so many ways since my last entry. I felt that it was important to share with those whom I interact with online.

Wherever you find yourself at this point in life, I want to encourage you to thank God for life! You may not have everything that you want or even need, but you are in the land of the living and there is an opportunity for the voids in your life to be realized. You may be thinking that there is so much going on that it makes anything positive seem like an impossiblity. Trust me, I know that struggles are real because I have been through them and find myself in some challenging times even as I type this blog. Despite those realities, it simply boils down to your ability to refocus and redirect your thinking.

What you focus on most becomes the clearest to you. When the balance of the bills exceed your total take home pay, you can find yourself searching for ways to bridge that gap. When you experience more stress at home than you do at work, you may find yourself looking for ways to stay away from home. When you feel like you are undervalued and unappreciated, you may feel like this is all you can expect from life and it does not seem worth living any longer. If you find yourself married to a unfaithful husband or a controlling wife, you feel divorce is the only option. These are just a few examples of things that you may be experiencing. If these experiences seem to dominate your life, then you are focusing the majority of your attention on these things. Don't get me wrong, it is understandable to see why and how these experiences could dominate your thought life, but they DON'T HAVE TO!

There is a way to peace and that is through Jesus Christ. This may sound so cliche and I would have to agree with you - if this was the end. I believe one of the best gifts we have from God is the ability to choose. Let's say that you are experiencing everything I aforementioned, you can choose to FIND something positive in those experiences. This not easy, especially if you have made a habit of focusing on the negative.

Philippians 4:8 says, "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

When you seek the fastest way out of a difficult situation, you do not learn as much as you could about you. We humans are able to endure much more than we think we can. I am not promoting staying in bad situations, but I am promoting that we TRUST GOD as He uses the challenges in our lives to shape us into a person that reflects Godly character. If you have time, take a few minutes and read James chapter 1, verses 2 through 5.

I want you know that GOD WILL PROVIDE!!! I want you to know that you are able to endure challenges that make you uncomfortable!  You are able to endure things that makes you sad or angry. If you want to make it, FOCUS ON GOD, find good in others, and see if there is ANYWAY that you can help improve the situation. Sometimes, that may look like you lowering your voice or being honest or saying or doing nothing at all. Each situation is different and you have to TRUST GOD to know what response will benefit the situation!

I love you with the LOVE OF GOD because God is love! I want to see you succeed in the big things of life and the little things of life! If it is important to you, then it is important to me that you are able to successfully navigate through the situations and come out on the other side with peace!

Dr Harris
